Hey gang, thanks in advance for your input.
I’m ready to pull the trigger on an 08 Elantra GL -5spd in Ontario. The MSRP for the car is $18,095.
I’m getting the car for -$2000 Hyundai Promotion, -$500 Dealer Promotion and another -$500 negotiated price reduction. $15,095 (+ freight and tax etc.)
Is this a good deal or can I do better?

Well the promotions are fixed, so what we really have to look at is $18,095 - $500. so the question is whether $17,595 is a good negotiated price. I don't personally know the dealer invoice myself, so this is just a guess. but in the US, the margins on that car are about $1000 US (some models less than $400 and some more than $1000). My guess is that the margin on this is probably somewhere in the $1000 to $1200 range max (might even be lower). So given a $500 negotiated, then the dealer is making $500 to $700 on the car (might even be lower). So in my opinion, that's a good negotiated price.
keep in mind, again, I am just making a best guess on the margin.

If anyone has access to CarCost or similar pricing feature, can you please find out what the dealer cost is for this vehicle and post it here. Thanks!
