Wanted to know if someone has experience of taking Go train from Rutherford GO station to downtown:

- Wanna know things like:
- Train usually on time?
- Parking issues?
- Any other issues

Thanks a lot.

GO Transit now publishes statistics (http://www.gotransit.com/strategicplanning_public/en/otp/default.htm) on their website about on-time performance.

According to that the last train of the morning can be problematic.

I take the train from the King station which is two stations north of the Rutherford Station every morning.

Here is what I can tell you about it:

The earlier the train, the more likely you are to get a seat (by seat I mean a place where you won't have 3 other people in the seat pod banging on your knees the whole ride)

The Rutherford station is by far the busiest from the ones I ride by every day (King, Maple, Rutherford, York). Parking is probably going to be a problem if you don't take one of the first two trains.

Trains are usually on time, only once or twice did I get delayed by more than 10 minutes, so accuracy is pretty good.

asides from published schedules like there as many trains as the lakeshore line (3 each way per day several years ago, maybe more now), I've found the Rutherford lot to be fairly crazy, although still civilized. I suppose other GO lots may be the same.

There are people that line up long before the train gets to the stop and makes a mad dash to their cars at night, a scene which I find quite humourous. Depending on which direction you live, it can be quite long to get out of the parking lot. I think west-bound towards Keele street, a lot of cars line up for -- may take 5-10 minutes to left the parking lot. Versus if you go straight through at the parking lot exit or head eastbound, on Rutherford, not much of a line-up.
