I don't know if this is true but my brother said if you upgrade the MP3 deck without letting your insurance company know. Even if you get an accident or something or they find out that you changed your MP3 deck, they will void your insurance. Is this true?
Not true. Upgrading your audio deck is not a performance enhancing mod.

If you're audio upgrades are of significant value, you need to declare it to your company to be able claim theft damages, otherwise they will base re-imbursement in your stock unit.

Wow, you have some stupid friends.
You can upgrade your car radio. Your battery starts the car, nothing hooked up to it would cause an accident.
