Hey.. just wondering if anyone heard of Mohawk College (in Ontario)

www.mohawkcollege.ca

One of my friends was asking me if he should come as an international student in a co-op program there. I have never heard of it, besides I think he should rather invest that hefty international student fee in a university.

I was wondering if anyone here had any experiences with Mohawk College and would like to share them. This college is running a lot of advertisements in foreign countries.... and desperately seeking international students with any profile...

Also, anyone know some decent universities which don't care a lot about the grades when it comes to international students. I am guessing there are some as international students pay a lot....(My friends has done a BCom, not great grades)

It's Hamilton's Community College.

Just as reputable as any other community college in Ontario.

In reality any post-grad certificate or fast-track program would suit them if they have a degree from another country and lack Canadian work and educational experience.

I've also heard of it and knew it was in Hamilton. If I'd lived in that area, might have considered it but I went to Sheridan as it was closer.

I don't believe there are any universities that wouldn't care about grades for international students. You'd have to check the admission standards, but international students would have to qualify just as Canadian residents do.

Yes, international students have to pay more BUT the reason is that their schooling costs are not subsidized by the Canadian government. They are paying what the actual costs are. The education for Canadian residents costs exactly the same as what international students pay, but is highly subsidized by the government. So the universities don't make any more money off of an international student.
