Try T&T, they open on some holidays while others are closed.

There's a size limit threshold that determines whether or not they're affected. You might find small ones like Hasty Market open.

People should think about these things before the holiday. Everyone knows that the big stores will be closed.
If you just need an item or two, go to a Beckers or Mac's Milk convenience store and pay the premium. :)

Victoria Day refers to Queen Victoria, part of the British Monarchy. Since Canada is still connected to the Monarchy, technically any Canadian or anyone with a business presence in the country should be observing this holiday.
So those who do not celebrate Victoria day are businesses in other countries, which I am pretty sure will be open today. ;)

Hmm I was a little surprised today when I went out for groceries. This is my first long weekend in Ontario but in some other provinces stores tend to largely ignore long weekends.

I donno why canada and australia are clinging to the queen. Time to get rid of monarchy..nevertheless an additional day off is always nice :cheesygri

like u said....our statutory holidays are WAY too limited!!..haha..
realistically the advantage of monarchy is whenever you go to a country that doesn't have Canadian Embassy...the British Embassy will protect you whenever there's crap happens
