Check hire a student. Lots there, helped me when I was in school.

Pound the pavement, send out 100s of resumes. Post your resume here so we can help you polish it.

If you don't have much job experience, post any relevant volunteer or community work you have done with good references.

Good references are key.

How about working in a grocery store? While it's nothing special, its a good way to earn some money, as well as some physical activity. Most of the part timers should be around your age as well, so that helps your networking.

You said you are good with computers (and your CV says you have interest in video games).... Check out some of the game testing positions in the GTA... You would probably like them.

Google to find all the game development/testing companies in GTA and apply online.

for your age i think its best to find some lame job ie. groccery and do some volunteering, its a good age to begin, that way you build some contacts and begin to network and wut not.. money should not be so important for you, heck when your 20 like me, thats when u shud worry about money, unless u want money to go ballin and buy the latest gear.

anyway wut i suggest is try to apply to hospitals, i know some 15 year olds applying to volunteer at hospitals for their grade 11 co-op, i wish i did that myself. i know this one girl who did that, she gets jobs really quick, references from doctors go a long way compared to other references.

anyway my point exactly is to work little and volunteer more at this age, it shud be the prime time for you and school load should be less.

i hate to break it down for you, but if i was an employer i would not want to hire a 15 year old myself, cuz they have bad reps, ye i know i was 15 one time too, and i wudnt hire myself(at 15).
few places that wud hire are(im not trying to be mean or anything) but fast food places, papers like you mentioned, and i pretty much cant think of anything else for a 15 year old.
ohyeh , themeparks. wonderland wud hire, they hire anybody lol.

I'd say enjoy your youth and do some volunteering for 1-3 days a week.. which will give you the experience/references you need... instead of doing slave labour (Flipping burgers, pushing carts, telemarketing, door to door, etc.)

1.Find a template online
http://www.resumetemplates.org/ --here is a good link.
Be sure to read the articles revolving around resumes and coverletters. The theory behind it all.
Once you have that then...
2. Get some experience! How you may ask?
--VOLUNTEER is the first step forward.
--Jobs that don't require 6% of your brain.(lifting things, grocery stores)
3. Refine your resume more from what you gained in 2 then repeat 2 for better jobs.

For now your experience could come from school projects, I would put emphasis in extracurricular activities such as chess clubs, reading clubs, stuff like that. Even if it is lame, do it it is just means to an end which is pimping your resume.

Local hospital...60 volunteer hours guaranteed.

It's a bit of a hassle though cos they even interview your and reject some people, you gotta get a couple of shots and some other things but I got 320+ hours from Hotel-Dieu Grace Hospital in Windsor during high school thanks to this and it filled out my needed 40 volunteer hours as a bonus.

You're under 16 so a lot of places just won't hire you so it's better to just get some volunteer experience for this summer and over next year. The volunteer job is just 4 hours per week or two usuaylly, more if you want.

Btw, they don't have "Hire A Student" anymore I think. Now it's just Service Canada Youth Centres or something.

I didn't know 15 year olds could work, but if you're turning 16 during the summer this year you can work at wonderland. Pays minimum wage, work is slave labour, but you get free tickets, cheap food, and meet a ton of people.

I had a friend who worked at Wonderland. He did the announcer thing and he said that as a kid he hated that so when he found it he had to do it he was like OH NOOOOOOOOOO!

They barely pay and he completely hated it.

Summer hiring is in full swing for most businesses. My advice is to steer clear of the retail and fast food industry. You have delivery experience. See if a warehouse or distribution company would hire you. Greenhouses are prime for summer work too.

Work for the army, they pay right after your shift

I'm too short to get a job in the friggin army. Plus I don't want anything to do with them, I'm trying to get away from the New World Order not closer to it, either way it's pointless.

Anyways, not the point. I dunno if summer recruiting is in full swing. I've been lookin since the beginning of May and don't see much. Mostly applied to places who aren't currently hiring cos there aren't many that actually are hiring. Not with retail anyways. I'm just praying for new stores to open up and open fast here in Mississauga.

I think one thing you could do is obtain some skills in programming, web designing, etc, if you're interested of course. This will help you a lot(in your first term) in getting coop positions if you choose to study something related, which would definitely pay a lot more than what you'd get for working at Mcdonalds.

I did the whole fast food/grocery store thing throughout high school, and money-wise its not really worth your time.
