I am doing my undergrad in Computer Engineering. I messed up my second year, hit a rough patch along with some personal problems...in that year I failed 3 courses and got 2 D's. Doing better now though:

My 1st year GPA was 3.57
My 2nd year GPA was 2.24
My 3rd year GPA is 3.64

I still have to do my fourth year, assuming that I can attain a GPA of ~3.6-3.7 in my fourth year... (making the cumulative ~3.2-3.3)

What are my chances of getting into a GOOD school for engineering grad? Are those F's/D's ever gonna get off my back...

And if I want to work for a couple of year before my grad... Do you think employers will look down upon me due to my second year performance??

do you get a co-op year, employer will be more interested in that than your grade. as for grad school. make sure you do well on final year, shouldn't be much of an issue.

Yeah.. I am in co-op. I already did an 8-month work term. It went pretty well, got some good references. Have to do another 4 month one soon.

And I hope you are right..... I have my fingers crossed.

Don't worry harry, you're not alone. I also messed up in second year and did as badly as you, almost identically as bad (the only difference is that I had a slightly lower GPA). But I too bounced back. Like someone else commented, I believe only your third and fourth years matter. ;)
