HI I just received $2500 for a bday present from my parents (thanks mom + dad)

Any recommendations what i should do with it?

Note i have no debt. was thinking of maybe buying some stock or maybe just put it in a pc financial account.

Any other suggestions on how i should use/spend/save the money? Would be appreciated

Don't ask anyone on RFD what to do with your money. Go and see a FA or read up on the many freebie investor sites out there.

Put some into an RRSP. If you're not earning enough to be taxed, then defer the tax benefit when you next file taxes so you can start building up a big tax return for when you start working.

Assuming you're fairly young, try hunting around for a good mutual fund with a history of strong returns and stick the $1,500 (or whatever portion it is you've decided to invest) into it. It's low maintenance and the compounding effect can be drastic over the long term.

Buy a rickshaw. It's the romance of the handsome cab without the guilt or dander of the equine.
