are car washes bad for the paint of your car ?? I use esso or petro touchless car wash. i do it every week because my car gets dirty. But is that too much ? I know some people that wash their car every few days but what about the paint ? Thank you

just get it detailed by yourself/someone so it has a nice layer of wax on it. after that initial detail, you can have longer intervals and itll protect your paint. make sure you do another detail every month though.

Unless you hand wash your car, car wash will kill your paint. Slowly but surely.
Also, do not go into the "new" car wash bay!!! It will scratch your car very badly.

One of the members on G35Driver recently polished a car that was used at an automated carwash for 4 years; he did a great job but it definately was not an easy task. Here is how the paint looked :-0 :

Automatic washes will make swirls on your car eventually. Just look at the mass and velocity of those brushes - if they were really soft enough to touch your car with that kind of power, they'd need to be replaced every week and the cost would go up astronomically.
Save automatic carwashes for emergencies:
Like when you're late for something, want to show up with a clean car and you're already wearing a suit so you can't hand wash it yourself.
Or you want to rins some salt off the car but it's -20C and you just can't handle being outside for even 5 minutes in the wash bay.
Shouldn't be more than 3-4 times a year.

i do a 4 stage detail(clay, cleaner-wax, polish, wax) but only once every summer, takes over 3 hours and is done in garage.
winters it goes through touch less washes(shell/esso) every 3-4 days.
I dont have major swirl mark issues. but since the car is dark blue, there will always be some.
;)
only 3? haha ur quick!
