GIC Plus
3 years Maximum Return is 21%
5 years Maximum Return is 60%
It shows the maximum return. Did anyone try it and how much was the interest rate?

I purchased some GIC Plus back in Feb. 2005; got the maximum return after 3 years (21%) as it is based on the TSX 60 index. Not a bad return given that GIC's generally are in the 2-5 % range.

21% per year. Correct?
The TD notes have a cap on the payment. In the case of the three-year GIC Plus, the maximum is 21 per cent. For the other two GICs, it is 20 per cent. This means that no matter how well the benchmark index performs, the maximum potential annual compound rate of return is about 6.5 per cent.
Got it :(

Am I missing something here, why would an individual put their money in, say GIC Long-Term Simple for 3-years @ 2.55%, when they can just take the suggested GIC proposed by the OP for the same number of years @ 21%?

From TD website, it is the total return not annual
"GIC Plus
3 years Maximum Return4 is 21%
5 years Maximum Return4 is 60%
"4 Equivalent to the total return over the term of the investment (i.e. not an annualized rate)"

Thanks... I did read the note, but I guess that return rate just took my concentration away
