A friend of a friend is selling his 2007 Yaris Sedan for $14500 inclusive of tax. It has 43K on it and no power windows or power locks. It is automatic and has AC. I drove it and it runs well. Is this a good price? I checked autotrader and it seems like a good price. The cars available on the site are $13000 or close to $14700 with taxes. And thats for the hatchback.

Cold deal....
The car is really base and a 2008 brand new with tax is probably few k more......but with 0 km and full warranty...
I won't save myself around 3k for a 43000km drove car.....and no power door and power windows.....you sure you can stand for this?

what's wrong with having manual locks and windows? It's not like he's gonna die or something if he doesn't have those extra optional things.
It's a good car, and why don't you make a deal with him for 14,000 flat.
with a brand new 2008, he has to pay other fees plus both PST and GST taxes. With this he only have to pay 1 tax and maybe small fees for licensing fees

But he'll get low financing if he buys new (unless it's not offered?)

Maybe that's not a big deal for somebody, but even my first car 1994 has power windows and power lock, any cars (especially a 2008) doesn't even have this basic functions, I will walk away. Personal preference.

But it's a YARIS. With a vehicle that sad... who cares if the lack of power windows/locks makes it just a tiny bit sadder...

Wow! You can buy a brand new Hyundai Accent for $9,999 plus tax, etc., if you have cash. Better to buy a new car than one with 43,000 km.
By the way, I drive a 2000 Accent with 71,000 km - no air, no power anything and a standard. Less to break down and simpler.
I really liked older cars that were simple back in the days...
