Seen their full page ads trying to capitalize on pricey gas?

"30 Days Free" if you bring in your TTC Metro Pass! So it said.

I called to book an appointment and was told none was needed, so i walked in one day to their newest location on Yonge and Dundas and was greeted and sweet talk for half an hour, when they find out i am still with Goodlife Fitness paying less than half of what they are asking ($99.95), they retreated and said the 30 days free is only for the first 50 people and you need to book an appointment to qualify for that, What BS

I knew a girl who was lured earlier by their $7.99 ad and ended up paying hundreds more. American style and owned club more interested in your money than your health for sure.

They never bother asked to see my metro pass.

Just got their flyer that says $2/week, no contracts, no hidden fees.... but must prepay the first two months ($16)....

Their prints don't say anything about any extra charges... and was intrigued by this as one of their locations is like 2 minutes from my house....

my guess is, you'll have to pay with a credit card and they will automatially charge a years fee after the first two months if you don't cancel.

That's just my guess though, maybe they'll let you pay with soem loonies and you can decide later on if their server is worth it or not.

extreme fitness is dumb. They will try to say that its an upscale gym when really its not. Its just like any other gym. They'll try to convince you by giving you 3-4 months free and say you'll be paying $40/mth but in reality you're still paying $75 even if you do get the 3-4 months the following year you'll be paying like $900/yr.

Best way to go is getting a corporate membership. No gym membership should cost more than $365/yr besides you're only at the gym 1-1.5 a day. Its not like you're going to go every day for the whole year. (LETS BE REAL!)

Hi there,

As a member I'd agree their advertising is plentiful and misleading but my girlfriend and I are members and do love it, she liked it a LOT more than Goodlife.

If you do want to sign up I had a post which read as follows.

2 EXTREME FITNESS Gym Memberships. Only 8 months left on the contract. We need to transfer our membership because we both got laid off, LOVED the gym though state of the art equipment and it’s great.

If you take over the membership you Pay NO registration Fee (which is usually a couple hundred) you get the month of May FREE of charge and only commit to 8 months instead of 12!

You also will get my work corporate rate of $60 allowing you access to ANY club accept The Wellington Club and The Yonge, St.Clair club as these are executive. If you want these clubs I can transfer you that membership at my rate of $80. This is per membership but is less than what you’d be which is 80 for a basic membership!

We want to transfer these ASAP so you benefit from the month of MAY for free so send me an email and we’ll make it happen.

We will toss in a Gym bag to sweeten the deal, they are lightly used but hey its free.

Man, I had no clue how much gyms actually cost. I've always had either a school ($90/8 months) or work ($60/4 months) gym to use.

Makes me want to stay in school a bit longer. :D

Well just make sure you check your credit card bills properly

i was warned by a friend (that went to extreme) he told me that they charge your credit card twice sometimes and so he called htem and they told him it was probably a glitch in their system adn would fix it.

Then i asked my other girl friend who used to work there and she said "yeah alot of gyms do that, thats how they make their money.. if they dont notice then they wont put the money back but for the people that do notice they jsut say its an accident"

i've been at extreme for 2years and am very happy there. also got a few of my friends to join and we go regularly and i find it better than goodlife and god forbid the YMCA (kennedy/enterprise).

i pay 51/month inc taxes. its not cheap but not outrageous expensive and well worth it.

If you're at U of T the first year after you graduate, the alumni fee is pretty cheap but then the 2nd year on it's $480 / year. $75 a year for a locker.
