Hi guys, I copied all the Video files of a DVD into my laptop and tries to play it back. It wont play. There is sound, but no video. I tried Realplayer, Divx player and Nero player, same result.... The movie file is called VTS_01_1 i think they are called VOB file or something.

How did you copy? Drag and drop via My Computer? That won't bypass the copy protection. For something like that, you will need to 'rip' the DVD. Not sure if that is something we can discuss here, so search the 'net for 'rip dvd'.

Basically what Hades said. DVDs are encoded so its not a simple copy and paste for the DVD to work. You will need to use software to decode the DVD and obtain a video file if you want to have it backed up on a computer (or storing it in a media center). Problem is... you can't get help with that in this forum (or most forums for that matter) because it is illegal (altho if you are backing it up and have a physical copy of it, plus not giving it to anyone else, i believe you are allowed to do this... just don't quote me on that:razz: ).

actually they are pretty simple to copy and paste, just need a proper program to open them.
I assume your just trying to play it on your computer, d/l media player classic or zoom player
*Well i've done it, but if there is copy protection it will give u an error, if it didnt then thats not your problem
