Web Deals for deals on your Birthday
Yves Rocher : If you have their reward card they send you coupons in the mail for discounts and services. You get a card for a free showgel from yves rocher for your b-day. I'm not sure if you'll get one every year if you don't buy there regularly. You may have to sign up for a while before your b-day though.

I signed up for ebags.com (http://www.ebags.com)newsletter and got $25 off purchase of $75+ expires 14 dyas from b-day. Shipping to Canada is high (paid $20) for a purse a few weeks ago so the coupon would essentially cover the shipping. Can't combine offers ie if bag is 20% off or have 20%off coupon can't use this also, but if you usually gived you the option to use whichever deal is better, just watch on-site promos like free shipping don't apply to Canada, but coupon codes like the b-day one do. Oh shop through Greatcanadian Rebates (http://www.********************.ca)for 9% back as well.

I saw a sign at Subway (Whites and Kingston Rd, Pickering Ontario) that says you can get a free 6-inch sub with the purchase of a drink on your birthday.
I assume you'd need to show some form of ID. Don't know if it's available at all locations so I just posted the location that I saw the promotion at.

Tony Romas by far has the best birthday freebie compared to other restaurants that only give out little brownies or a slice of cake(with an entree purchase).
Basically you get to order any entree up to a value of $18.99, with no need to buy a drink or bring anyone else along.

My cousin told me about this awesome b-day freebie. If anyone is from or near London, Ontario you can see a movie for free on your birthday at The University of Western Ontario's movie theater. Scroll down to the bottom of the webpage and says:
"Western Film wants to help you celebrate! Just show ID at the Box Office on your birthday and you will receive free admission and free medium pop and popcorn!"
Although the theater plays second-run films, it's still a sweet deal for free movie, popcorn and drink.

I am hoping people will remember this freebie especially those in the GTA when it comes to voting for best freebie next year. At the downtown Toronto Town & Country you can get a free meal on your birthday. Its all you can eat and just need proof of your birthday. You do not need a minimum purchase, have a paying person with you or even need a reservation. In other words if you cannot find anyone to join you you can get the offer on your own. I have done this the past 2 years and they even supplied me with a free mini birthday cake. Now if you are not in the GTA but have a Town & Country you might want to check out to see if they have this there.

I know some people might find this a unusal question but I was wondering if anyone can answer these questions. Some places if you register and or go to them on or near your birthday give freebies. Now I am curious if the place has more then one locale do you just go to one location or do you more to one? Now I am not saying going out of your normal area to get the other freebie. If you have done this did you have any trouble. I will not mention the restaurant chain but there is one where I have heard gives you a free main course with any appetizer purchase or a discount on your bill whatever is smaller and since I have a b-day on a holiday just wondering if I might try to do it before my actual b-day and then at another local on my actual b-day.

Hey Guys,
I feel sooo lame asking this but here'goes:
I've gotten the free meal at Tuckers Marketplace for years now... really great deal, but this year (well Tomorrow, Sept. 4) I'll be celebrating alone as I just moved to Toronto.
Will they honor the free meal even if you're by yourself? I'm secure enough in myself to eat alone, I do it all the time, but will they tell me no because I'm not bringing another paying guest?
Thanks if anyone has done this, or knows the answer.

I don't think the What-a-Bagel deal is location specific. The one at Bathurst/Steeles definitely has the birthday freebie (done it twice) and I've seen it at the location at Yonge/Eglinton. Pretty sure it's chainwide.

>The Birthday Freebies Thread V3! OP favorite is Boston >Pizza, free gourmet pasta is good for the week prior to >your birthday, that frees up the actual day to go to >Tuckers Marketplace!!!
Boston Pizza freebie is not entirely free. Went to the Boston Pizza in Nepean today with coupon in hand.
#1 Ordered shrimp penne pasta which was came dry (little sauce) and of mediocre taste
#2 Service was poor, server never even came to ask us once how the food was
#3 Only when the bill came did the server mention that the coupon was only good for up to $10 in value, not the actual price of the pasta!!! No where in the coupon did it ever mention this and the server did not inform us upfront.
#4 Bathrooms, bar floors, tables and menus were sticky, meaning not well-maintained
#5 Comparing similarly priced restaurants (East Side Mario's, Earls, Joey's, Cactus Club, Swiss Chalet, etc.,) Boston Pizza is a total rip-off. Even with the coupon, in hindsight, I would have been better off walking across the street to East Side Mario's, getting better food and service for around the same price.
** I enjoy eating out and only make complaints where they are due, in this case, it was a total disaster!

Edmonton Smitty's - Westmount location had a birthday ice cream for the birthday person. Not great, but not bad, and we used the coupon for $10 from the Edmonton SUTP book and they took it at lunch even though it says valid only after 4 p.m. Its this type of service that makes people go back. They have actually REALLY improved the service and menu and made it ...........almost upscalish!

To save yourself the embarassment of being rejected in person, try calling first. And mind how you word the question... you're not likely to get a positive response with "Hey, what are you gonna give me for free on my birthday?", whereas you'd be better received if you word it more nicely, such as, "It's my friends birthday and we're looking to celebrate. Can you tell me, do you offer anything treaty for someone's birthday?"
To, try calling various places (ie. movie theatres, movie rentals, dry cleaning, car washes, grocery store for discounts on film developing or steam cleaner rentals, etc.)... and if they're places you frequent often and they know your face, they just might give you a birthday treat even though it's not normally their policy to do so. :)

I took the BP freebie and I had no problems with it. Took it to BP by Metrotown in Burnaby, BC and they took off the full price for me. All I needed to give them was my driver's license.

Actually, this year I went to Montana's for my birthday, and someone told them it was my birthday. I told them not to bother because I don't eat cake anyway. They said "Well then, that'll make my job easier". 2 minutes later a group of waiters come back and make me wear the hat & stand on my chair anyway. Instead of the normal birthday song they sing, they sang:
"Happy vasectomy to you, happy vasectomy to you, happy vasectomy dear loser, happy vasectomy to you".
I was less than thrilled.

For my birthday last Monday we went to Casey's in Ottawa and I got $15 off the tab... also got an email from RW&Co for 25% off last ticketed price for three days before and after your birthday (you will get ID'd), a free Sephora gift (this time it was bubble bath) - for some reason didn't get the usual Ardene coupon? And for the $15 for the drycleaners, you have to sign up prior to your actual birthday as the emails get sent out first thing in the morning for the coupon!
Thanks for posting these deals!

FYI, Town & Country Buffet is now closed. From their website:
Town & Country Market Fresh Buffet
It is with great sadness that we announce the closure of Town & Country Buffet. Our buffet has been a destination for tourists and Torontonians alike for 60 years. The City of Toronto has not renewed our lease and is clearing our harbourfront lot to make a park.
We are in the process of searching for a suitable new downtown location and hope to reopen sometime in 2009. Please check back for updates. We would like to thank the thousands of loyal customers that have chosen to dine with us over the many years.

Closed!!! This is from their site

Anyway, I also got the Tony Roma email (that's the best one) for a free entree up to $18.99, a free something from Orange Julius (can't remember what it is and not all that interested) and a free slice of handmade cake from Williams Coffee Pub (I don't even know if there's one in my city, I'll have to check) and a free Blizzard from DQ. Sweeeet, keep'em coming I say! I would have like to have also used the Boston Pizza one but it was only good for a week ending on my BD and I wasn't able to get there in that week....dammit...lol! Last year I won a gift certificate from the above restaurant and while I am not a veggie I went with one of my best friends and have to say the food was great. THe thing thats makes it even beter most veggie planes have limited items plus alot of stuff is made with tofu and bean curd but not this place. If you want a refreshing change of paste and good food I recommend it.
On a side noteabove someone mentioned the Town & Country down near Harbourfront was closing down and was wondering if anyone has any updates re it reopening or relocating. I have tried a e-mail address I found online but have not got a reply.

Okay so last week I decided that I wanted to take advantage of all the special coupons I received for my birthday. Although all these coupons offered freebies without having to purchase anything I did buy a drink, and I did leave a tip. Here is my experience of how it all went down:
Boston Pizza: (free pasta or desert for my birthday) When I first got to Boston Pizza the place seemed empty. However I waited close to 35 minutes for my food because it seemed as if nobody wanted to wait on my table. When the food finally arrived I was surprised at how big a portion I was getting. The food tasted amazing, but was overshadowed by the amount of time I had to wait and the terrible customer service I received. In fact not once did I ever get a happy birthday day from the staff.
Tony Roma’s: (free $18.99 entrée) The customer service was the best I received out of the whole week. And the atmosphere of the place seemed really impressive. I decided to go for the ribs, and it was brought out nice and fast. I will most definitely be coming back again.
Quiznos: (free cookie) I went there for lunch one day and had no problem with this one. I bought a sub that tasted great and the cookie was nice and warm.
Dairy Queen: (buy one Blizzard, get one free) The coupon was easy to use and the ice cream tasted delicious as always.
Orange Julius: (Free Light Smoothie for SPC users) I had no problem using this coupon; probably because I wasn’t the first to use it that day. I picked the strawberry banana smoothie; it was big and tasted great. I will definitely be buying many more this summer.
Montana’s: (free appetizer when you join mailing list) The wait staff seemed unaware of the deal however after a while they said I could have a seat, and so I order a draft beer. The beer was brought nice and cold really quick, but my appetizer (Antojitos) took close to 18 minutes to arrive. Although they did taste good, I didn’t really appreciate the time I had to wait for the food to arrive.

I went to Tony Roma's today (the Etobicoke location) for my birthday $18.99 entree freebie. Although the coupon stated $18.99, the waitress said that they have just started a new promo. You can still get the up to $18.99 off your entree or you can get $15 off your entree and $5.99 off your dessert for $20.99 total off your bill. I had a $17.99 entree and a $2.49 dessert. My friend had a $5.99 dessert so the waitress agreed to put her dessert on the bill under "my seat" so we got $20.99 off the bill.

Apparently if you go on your birthday, you just show ID. Otherwise, you sign up on their website and they send you the coupon to use 1 week before and 1 week after your birthday. I didn't make a reservation. I just told the server that I had the birthday coupon and she told me about the new promo when we were ordering dessert.

Hey Yall
This list is very helpful. I should have looked it up last week, since alot of the deals requires that you sign up to become a member of some club. My birthday is today so I will definitely be using some of the listings.

I'm surprised this isn't on the first page, it's been around for a while and has been discussed throughout the thread. I've received it twice now, just used it recently as it was my mom's BD. In fact, IMO this one and the Tony Roma's are the best ones and I've used both of them for the last two years.
Kind of off-topic also is that Tony Roma's also has some great specials you can use if you have more than one person going with you. Each weekday from 2:00 - 5:00 PM, if you purchase one entree you get the second for $5. For an order of ribs that cost $23.99, that's one helluva deal!

Name: Casey's (May08)
Description: Free entree (max $15) when accompanied with another paying person
Location: Yorkdale mall location AFAIK
Link: Not Available
I can confirm this also works at the location in Guelph, Ontario
Just a heads up about Casey's at Yorkdale...it's free entree (max $15), but the stupid thing is, they will only look at the lowest priced entree. So even if the birthday person orders an entree for $15, and someone else at the table orders an entree for $10, they will only take $10 off the bill (even if that meal isn't for the birthday person!!). Doesn't make sense to me, but those are their rules!

I thought that this coupon came by email, but it actually comes by mail. Since I didn't have "receive mail" checked on my Starbucks card registration account, I didn't get the coupon.
No birthday drink for me. :(

I was just at the Aveda store, Rideau Centre- ottawa and told that you get a free hand massage or chair massage and a GC (for $10 item) if you are a registered member of their rewards.
My B-day is next week Nov 11, so will see if it works the day before.
Sephora, it was only the lip glosses they gave out at the store-but they are nice!
Sephora also did not ask for ID...which was good as I had gotten the lip glosses earlier 2 months ago for someone else that could not make it to the store (went for sister b day she really liked the lip glosses).
Finally I have my own lip glosses now :)
If you are a guy the lip glosses make nice stocking stuffers for family and are 1/2 the size of the regular sephora brand gloss.
Also you can take out the gift box and give them separately...

Just received a email coupon for free dessert at The Urban Pear in the Glebe (ottawa).
Good the month of your birthday.
The food there is good, but kinda expensive.
The best deal if probably to go for Brunch or an appetizer.
I have had the main course there that is vegetarian and that is pretty good.
Forgot to add vegetarian entree when was there last year is around $26 and was smoked mushroom tempura something or other...was good but kind of a lot for vegetables...
Do not like most game meats and beef, so not as much choice for me.
The antipasti is around $11 and "glazed beef rib" on app menu is $14 something..curious to try one of those 2.
Desserts are not listed online, but are usually around $8 or so and change every day.
