yes it does come with ink

i have little-brother version of this printer called CX4450 (much slower/worse and no LCD)

while i can not give positive feedback to the little brother CX4450 as it's worst printer i have used, i am hoping this newer and better model is much better..if anything i can return if quality sucks like on CX4450.

i also need a printer, and wanted to get FS day of deal...but i dont know..i am really torn right now between Brother and Epson

both brother and epson use 4 ink cartridges with separat e color which is really good because if you print a lot of red, and your red fnishes, you can just buy another tank of red...unlike with regular printers that only have 1 tank, and if particular color finishes, you have to buy another color tank

My Epson CX5400 has been running for like 5 years, only now is there some problems. I've went through countless inks and it just wouldn't quit. I would recommend this brand for sure, great price.

Personally, I've had bad experiences with all Epsons that I've ever owned in my life.. but I guess it's hard to make generalizations based on a few experiences. Especially if they may have changed quality these past few years? No idea.

HP has been great though :)

Damn, I've already bought the Brother DCP-540 one, but all the specs on this Epson one look better, does anyone have any further insight into this? Perhaps I could returh the Brother one and get this one if the Epson one here truly is much better.

Heck even the display on the Epson one is bigger, it apparently has more colour depth, faster ppm, higher resolution scanning, I dont know if I should make the switch :S

this uses 4 cartridges oppose to 2(black+colour)... is that better?

I bought this printer about 4 or 5 months back. Really have only used it a dozen times for things like scanning, printing some word docs, printing some internet pages for PMs :) and copying docs...no hi res photos or anything. Its been rock solid at least for the times I needed to used it. I would say its a good buy at $50.

Canada Computers is selling it for $79 minus $50 rebate. Link (http://www.canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowProduct&cmd=pd&pid=016312&cid=PR.488)
Sorry, jumped the gun - rebate requires purchase of a camera or a computer

yes.

it's more economical.
if you print a lot of same color...such as red if you wanna print picture of a rose, after a short while, your red will need a replacement.

with 4 inks, you can only change red.
with 2 inks, you have to buy the whole color cartridge again, regardless of the fact that your color cartridge still has a lot of color other than red in it.
it will be basically a wasted cartridge, which you can only use to print where you don't care how the colors come out...such as printing maps or printing something for studying or other stuff.

No Lexmark is the worst.

I haven't ran into a Lexmark printer used by either me, my family, or friends that hasn't sucked.

Samsung and Brother are my printers.

Thanks OP! Went and PMed this tonight at Staples (only store in my area that actually carries the CX8400!).

And for those considering buying it elsewhere for the $50 mail in, you can do it here too! Just go to Epson.ca website and the claim form is on the front page. So free printer when purchased together with any camera or PC/notebook!

Price with PM at BB is:
$109.99 - $49.99 = $60
10% of $60 is $6
$49.99 - $6 = $43.99 + 13% TAX = $49.71

Your math is a little off

Price with PM at BB is:
$100.99 - $49.99 = $51
10% of $51 is $5.10
$49.99 - $5.10 = $44.89 + 13% TAX = $50.73

Looks like a very good deal on a very good AIO printer, even without PMing!

I wonder where the best deals would be on ink supplies for this printer?

I have an Epson 860 Stylus I bought in 2000 and it is still going strong.... It has buried a number of HP printers that my friends have owned, so I have to disagree with you. Also my ink only costs 11.50 for both cartridges.
