I'm using an nLite stripped down version of Windows XP Pro SP3.

I currently have

CCCP
QT Lite
Real Alternative
Media Player Classic
Office 2003
Spybot
Daemon Tools
WinRAR
Firefox

I need recommendations on a lightweight Firewall, AntiVirus, and anything else that would add be good on an eee pc.

You managed to install the whole fleet of the Red Army of The former Soviet Union?

On my XP Eee, I have

Starcraft + Brood War
Adobe Photoshop CS3
Microsoft Office 2007
Best of Windows Entertainment Pack (Chips Challenge!)
Intervideo Home Theater
CCCP
Pidgin
uTorrent
Firefox
Tons of GBA / N64 Roms
foobar2000
mIRC
PuTTY
Media Player Classic
Alcohol 120%
WinRAR

And I have approximately 1.5 gigs remaining on the 4 gig HDD (my SDHC card is only for music). My copy of XP isn't even nLited, although I assume I could get even more free space by using that for the disc image. I wanted to have a tinier image, except on the image I made I dropped 16bit support, which prevented me from installing via floppy which I needed to do.

I would recommend 7zip over WinRar and GOM player over Windows media player and VLC.

download them at download.com for free and u'll see how much easier they are to use.

I thought the Epee will only run with the Asus version of Windows XP

The normal models of the Eee PC come with Linux, but anything can be loaded onto it. It's just a matter of figuring out how to do it, since the thing doesn't have a CD drive.

Many people use USB keys to load OSes, I personally went with a floppy disk approach.

Wow are you serious here? You're running Photoshop CS3 on the EEE? How's the performance of this program on the EEE?

I have it mainly if I just have to do simple editing. It works decently well, the only problem is that for canvases with a huge resolution (8.5x11@300dpi, stuff like that) it tends to go uber slow. I suppose it's just an issue of lack of RAM, but it runs like crap on huge canvases.

I used to do manga editing though (700x1000), and that was plenty fast.

Also, I chose CS3 because it's far easier on the resolution of the screen. CS2 and below use more real-estate for menus and stuff, although they might perform better.

An Eeepc can run MS word right? It doenst have a HD? If so, how do you run the OS off a flash drive and save files on removable media?
