are you going to be trying to blind people with it or use it as a pointing device for presentations?

I attached mine to my M9 Beretta, was fine, pew pew! Then I brought it over to my M4 and sighted my red dot with the laser and its been entertaining to see the bb travel on the same line as the laser and hitting its target.

"The 45 longslide, with laser sighting."
Used to be so advanced back in the day :D.

Not sure if it is illegal or not but my friends were able to receive theirs no problem.

Now don't be going to the airport and aiming these things in the pilot's eyes. Or worse, put a laser dot on a Police ETF officer... that's gonna be fun :D

Not sure if this really answers the question or not; but the A/V department at UBC provided a green laser for use at a conference I attended there.

I think so, we have various laser-pointer at work for presentations.

If you only want it for presentations or whatnot then buy the less powerful version. The only thing you gain from buying more powerful versions is being able to see the beam and increased range (ie for pointing in the sky). The extra power wastes batteries and is more harmful to people's eyes, so little benefit depending on what your using it for.

I shouldnt of bought such a powerful one, i might buy a weaker one cause i was going to use it for educational purposes.

I've imported several 150mw without issue...
HOWEVER!
For your own personal safety, don't use anything more that 5mw for 'play'. Most of these cheapie lasers do not have IR filters, so if you accidentally hit glare or reflect back at you... your eyes and others will feel it. If using higher powered ones, be responsible and use filtered goggles.

If you really want, then go for the higher powered 'true' versions, but just be careful. With my 150mW one, you can't look at the dot it makes on a wall 50 feet away without wincing after a while (without goggles). Be careful.

Beware that some of these cheap lasers do not contain a proper UV filter and throw off large amounts of UV rad.

How would I go about attaching these lasers to a sharks head?
Also, I can speak from experience. The goggles, they do nothing.

I have 2 home made lasers and a professional made laser. The 2 home made ones are 250mw and the pro is 350mw. Im honestly getting out of the laser scene and may sell these. BTW they are all red and I do have a pair of safety glasses:)
ohh, and anything above 5mw is technically illegal
