Last fall I was finally able to find an acreage I could afford and moved. Growing up on the farm its a dream come true for me, but of course I don't have the toys we had when growing up. Well we didn't have toys as things like quads and dirt bikes were used for work on the farm.

Anyways, I have been debating on what to get. As it sits I know I cant afford all 3, although it would be nice. And I always research the hell out of this kinda of stuff before buying.

So I'm turning to good old RFD for advice, tips, pros/cons, etc that I may not of though of. Id love eventually to have a couple so the entire family could go for big Sunday offroading, etc

ATV

Pros
1. Can be used year round
2. Can be used for hauling stuff
3. Can be used to plow my driveway
4. Can haul a small utility trailer for garbage, etc

Cons.
1. Cant be used to go to work

-----------------------------------------------
Rally Bike
Pros
1. Can be used on and off road. So I can do to work but also go offroading like a quad. Lots of gas savings there

Cons.
1. Only I can drive it. My wife wont for sure and my kids definitely not
2. Cant be used year round (although around here in winter you probably could)
3. Not very utilitarian

--------------------------------
Dune Buggy
Pros
1. Well lots of fun of course
2. My wife would definitely drive it
3. Ive always wanted one

Cons
1. Just for fun really
2. Cant use it to go to work

As soon as we find a property we want, I am getting a 4 wheeler. Mainly because I will have some work for it to do, but also it will be fun. I do say if you are going to use it to clean snow, get the blower for it(it's powered by it's own motor)...trying to use those plows is a huge pain

I am leaning toward the ATV more just because it can be used for work and play. But with the price of gas now a bike would be great for work. Although really I could only use it when the kids arent in school. I have to haul 3 each morning, so really Id only be abel to use it July & august for work.

Has anyone got the dune buggy they have at Costo for $1800. After seeing it in a post on here, it looks like it would be a blast
