Tried the same flight when they had that sale a few days ago... cost $520 then... it's $820 now. >:(

I guess WestJet increased their regular price and/or fuel surcharges.

Thier new fuel surcharges (http://www.canada.com/ottawacitizen/news/bustech/story.html?id=4f93626f-a091-488e-aced-aff2253d96bd) kicked in today. Very convenient...

Fuel is already incorporated in the price (cost of doing business). Fuel Surcharge is sort of like "System Access" fees cell phone carriers charge - it's something that should be already incorporated in the price. Instead of increasing their prices to encompass the increase in price in fuel, they keep the price the same and charge gravy on top of that.

It's also fair to note that they didn't jump the gun on the fuel charges until after Air Canada cleared the way when they introduced them last week. Now all the airlines are getting in on the action.

Every transport company charges fuel surcharges - for cargo. I suppose now they are for people, as well.
