I am a little confused by your question. Are you saying that you didn't filed a return yet? If not, I suggest you get started if you need to pay taxes. The more you wait, the more you'll have to pay. If you don't have to pay taxes, that's no problem.

If you did file and you just found the expenses, simply file an adjustment. You can do this online if you have epass or by submitting an adjustment form.

Adjustments initiated by you are usually good for quite a few years back (10 yrs I think). So no, it is not too late.

It is not yet late for filing tax return for year 2007 if you do not owe any tax amount to CRA. If you have to pay tax then you are late as any tax owing should have been paid and tax return filed on or before 30th April, 2008.

If your medical expenses are not significant (say more than 3% of your net income) than you may not get any refund for the same. Follow this link for medical expense.
http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tax/individuals/topics/income-tax/return/completing/deductions/lines300-350/330/how-to-claim-e.html

If you can not net file or do it yourselves, then you should see some tax professional / tax filer to complete the return for you.

...they mean less than 3% of NI

to claim medical the expenses have to add up to over 3% of your net income or ~ $1,900, whichever is lower

it's never too late, the government will gladly accept money any time. if you owe, you pay more through interest. if you are entitled to a refund, that's good for the government too, because they pay you back later. so no matter how late you do your returns, it's never too late. government doesn't lose out.

I am sorry for the confusion I meant filing to get money back.

You can always file an amendment (our accountant it going to be re-filing our taxes for the past 2 years to apply for a disability credit we didn't know we were entitled to)

Asking for $100+ is too much for a personal tax return (T1). Or is it some complex return with a number of schedules and business expenses?
I do it complementary for the first year for my mortgage clients.

You should be able to find out a tax filer (if it is a simple return and does not need an accountant) to do it for you in half the price.
