I have a Dell Axim X50 ( lower end one) and it doenst have WiFi

I was wondering what my best option is in regards to purchasing a WiFi chip. This make has an SD slot and a Compact Flash slot as well.

I have heard that this model doesnt support SDIO chips? can anyone confirm this?

Any advice would be appreciated

I believe there are CF wifi cards designed for lower end axim series. You can try looking around for one of those.

Try geeks.com. They ship to Canada, and used to have such items last year and before.

You can get either an SD or a CF wifi card for your X50, but be sure to check compatibility before you purchase, particularly if your unit has been upgraded to WM5.

Out of the box, Axims can't read SDHC cards, but you can apply hacks or upgrade to WM6 to add the capability. Here's a discussion about the hack:

Visit Aximsite/Mobilitysite and XDA-developers for more info on WM6. I'm not 100% sure it will work on the X50 but I know that it does on the X50v.

Another option would just be to purchase a CF to SD/SDHC adapter card.
