I'm looking for a low-end laptop as a gift. which deal is good? I assume both are at least warm. I would prefer a refur. computer b/c you can get higher-config., especially in current market with fast-step technology development. It's ok for me a computer's life isn't less than three years or so. It's just waste of money to buy a long-last name brand pc or laptop.

suggestions thanks!

I find it luke warm, but I'd probably end up going with the HP. I find the build quality slightly better, and intel > amd (for notebooks).. Plus it would be easy to get OSX on there :)

ice cold. The t2xxx processor is weak as hell, it's not even core 2 - cache is small. That computer should be $300 it's well dated by now.

For $100 or so more you can find a cheap duo core 2 brand new. Futureshop is a ripoff i cant stand when they do this - $300 off my ass---maybe 2 years ago!

T2310 is indeed a Core 2 processor. Not sure where you're getting your information from, because it's a great processor for the price you pay.

my understanding was that the t2310 is based on the merom platform - which would indeed make it a cored duo.
