Urbane Cyclist is the best bike store in town, as they deal specifically with commuter-friendly bikes. I just picked up this one myself http://ucycle.com/bikes/item.php?name=dahon_d7&cat=folding
It works flawlessly and gets plenty of speed. Hope that helps:)
