Heya guys,

Havent posted in a while so i thought i should, and it helps since i have something on my mind only you rfd'ers can comment on......

I have been with mbna for a while....i recently switched to the eco-logique card cuz i wanted to be unique and think my purchases somehow helped the world, lol......but THEN!

my mom got a letter in the mail inviting her to apply for a chrysler rewards card (we just bought a dodge caliber).....and i noticed that it was chrysler financial but backed by mbna....so i called up mbna and asked if i could switch and they said ya!.....

heres a link for you guys

http://www.chryslerfinancial.ca/navigation/html/en/creditCards.html

i think itd be useful for oil changes and maintenane repairs at my chrysler dealerships to get 5x the points.........

i have a platinum plus card at the moment so itd be a dodge rewards platinum mastercard........it helps that the cards dont look cheap and gaudy like current mbna mastercards....the dodge one kinda looks spiffy

and it has chrysler financial on it, instead of 'mbna'...on the card, which i kinda like....mbna always felt like a third tier credit card company, lol...

anyhoo....thoughts?

I personally think that car related rewards are terrible because you are severely restricted on what you can redeem rewards on.

You're much better off getting 1% cash back with Citi (Enrich Mastercard) or getting 1% groceries (we all need groceries!) with PC Financial Mastercard.

When it comes to automobile finances... you can save money by properly researching your expenses... maybe you won't want a Chrystler after all!

This equates to a 1% back card (except for purchases at dealerships where it is 5%). It would only be good value if you do a lot of service at Chrysler. It would definately NOT be your everyday card for for food, gas, etc purchases.

This card is pretty lame. Consider that you're paying like 25% more to get your car serviced at a dealer anyway, this pretty much negates the card rewards.
