GPS vent mount in available in Canada?

I know of the website www.mountguys.com which sells vent mounts, but is there a Canadian version of the site? I checked FutureShop and BestBuy and they seem to only sell dash mounts.

Specifically, I'm looking for a vent mount for the nuvi 260W.

I don't know of a canadian version either... I ended up ordering from mountguys.com, easy and painless. I would recommend them.

I am looking for one also to be use with Nuvi 760. Windshield suction cup mount is good but I find it a bit far to reach. Air vent mount is perfect and is almost at eye level. Ebay has some but I don't know how is the quality. The second pic looks like a lockoff version of the GN047.

What is AVIC?

Who cares if it is ugly or not if it is effective. The GPS is what you are looking at, not the mount.

I do. And I'm sure there are others that do as well. Things like an iPod sticking out, way out of place or GPS mounts all over the place are ghetto IMO. It's not so bad with GPS on older cars but on new cars where it's a factory option, particularly on luxury cars? Definitely ghetto.

I got my GPS vent mount from mountguys.com , no duties , I also recommend them. You can also try to win their Ebay.com actions and get your mount dirt cheap. I kept getting sniped and just decided to order from the store.

Is yours made by Arkon model GN047? The reason I ask is because I see different version of it. When I ask the seller for a picture of it on their ebay store, he said it is not available. Does it comes assemble? How long was shipping from either mountguys.com or their ebay store? Do they ship USPS? Does it come in an envople or small parcel? What did they declare the description and value?

Thanks for letting me know about mount guys, I calculated it against ebay and it ends up being cheaper from mountguys when buying all of the following.

I priced it on ebay and it was more expensive.

The only thing Im going to pick up on ebay is the AC Adaptor, I find you can it shipped for around $15, while on mountguys it is 20 something + shipping.

I'm going to get a little carrying case at any old store to throw all the Nuvi, and all cables and accessories in. The thing I dont like is that on the Nuvi 760 the car adaptor is also the Traffic receiver antenna, replacing that is very expensive.

Did I miss any must have accessory?

I got my vent mount today from mountguys.com

The main reason I got the vent mount was so that it wouldn't be as noticeable as a suction mount. However, I realized that detaching the vent mount is a bit of a pain. Do others have this problem?

I arrived home today to find my order there waiting for me.

I am very happy with the case, it has th Garmon logo on it and it is excellent build quality and is a perfect fit, Im pretty sure I saw the same one at Futureshop for $30.

I also applied the screen protector and that wen on as well too.

I was just curious about your vent mount, im guessing you ordered the mroe expensive one at $22? Mine just attaches to the vent and just has that round knob to attach the unit to, yours looks like it sticks out a little more and is held by clamps on either end.

One thing I wanted to also compare with other people was the Screen protector, do you find your screen less responsive when using it, I think I notice a difference.

my vent mount/gps unit kinda shakes up and down a bit when im driving over bumpy roads, its not too bad but of course its better if it doesn't move at all

got mine at walmart for 20 bucks... fits perfectly fine for my garmin 350... fits most gps also

I picked up a cheapo vent mount on eBay for my Garmin Nuvi 350 a couple of weeks ago and used it yesterday for the first time for our Montreal trip.

Pretty good overall, the GPS stayed solid throughout the bumpy ride. It's also within reach and it doesn't obstruct your view on the windshield.

The only downside is you have to look down a bit (take your eyes off the road) and it's a bit tricky to remove after. A long paperclip came in handy for me.

All in all, an excellent investment at $5 (including shipping from Hong Kong).

I also just bought a cigarette lighter adapter that will give me more than 1 slot for the GPS and the iPOD FM transmitter to hook up to.
