The ' The Sports Medicine Specialists ' are the best in the city IMO - run by the former team physician of the Toronto Maple Leafs Dr. Michael Clarfield - they deal with a lot of pro and rec athletes alike and have 3 locations in T.O...though the downtown location has been around the longest.
Here is the SMS link and a bio of Dr. Michael Clarfield ( he did my knee brace when I rehabed with SMS ...a great guy ! )

Check out the ' Services - Physiotherapy ' link on their site.

I would agree with poedua here to an extent. SMS is a great clinic, I know and have worked together with Dr. Clarfield and Dr. SoonShiong for many years in the past.
However, don't be hooked into a clinic due to its name or owner.
It'll all come down to your personal therapist and his/her experience/knowledge of the specific sport you are trying to rehab from.
Early rehab will follow similar protocols and techniques for strength and range of motion. All physios are trained in the use of modalities. But when it comes down to functional strengthening and sport-specific training, you need to ask for someone who knows your sport.
A physio that has 20 years experience treating hockey and football injuries may not have any clue about the demands or training regiment say for dragonboating or swimming...
The great thing about SMS is the ease in which you can be seen by a specialist and moved through the system if you need to have a sport doctor consult or surgery.

I really like Shape Toronto. I've been working with a chiropractor and a PT there. They helped to start running running and with my knee pain. They also got me back up and running after I injured a hip muscle. Just in time for my 15K last weekend! They have two locations - one at Avenue/Davenport and York Mills/Leslie.
Good luck OP! I hope you feel better soon :)

Clarfield is alright. I've seen him for my knee and shoulder. The other guys at his clinic though, could be better. The physio service there is expensive. Even if you have insurance coverage, it gets used up pretty quickly.

I agree with you, SENSEI.
Sports Medicine Specialists (Clarfield's clinic) is very good.
I have gone there for years, and know a lot of the people there very well. I have my favourite therapist there, and my "back-up". Got poor treatment from another one at one point, and told Clarfield. She was gone shortly thereafter. I would suggest you ask around for referrals from people as to which therapists they like there, and make sure you are specific when you book your appointment. Otherwise, they will likely give you a relatively "junior one".

The MacIntosh Sport Medicine Clinic at UofT...I personally wouldn't go anywhere else.
