So today I went to the gym and I haven't really been to a Sauna before, So my friend usually goes every time, so he told me to try it out, I went to go try it out and for some reason I had trouble breathing, it was like I was suffocating, I dont know if it was me actually getting anxiety attack as i know i get those and have problems breathing, or is it just normal when you go in there for the first time you have trouble breathing because your not use to the environment.

Maybe you got nervous being in an unfamiliar environment.

For many asthmatics saunas are a no-no. If you're the type of asthmatic that has attacks in the summer with the hot, moist air chances are that a sauna will set off an attack....

try covering your face with a towel when you go in there. it might just be that you're going from a warm/cool area to an extremely hot one.

Maybe you got too excited with what you saw and started to hyperventilate...

Now for a serious reply: I have also experienced this. I am not an asthmatic. I find it is considerably more difficult to breathe at first, but I get used to it after a while. It's a little uncomfortable, but I assume it's just part of the process that is the sauna.
I'm not sure if it's relevant, but I breathe primarily through my mouth (due to some nasal issues during infancy), maybe people who breathe through their nose have an easier time?

If you find you have breathing problems, don't go in one. They don't do anything anyways. If your exercising you are sweating anyways.
