This was interesting. Today I tried to PM Best Buy's terrible price on the Logitech G5 mouse against virtually any store on the internet.... everywhere else is cheaper.

Of course I got the usual excuses: No return policy, limited quantity, we don't PM there, we don't PM sale prices, we don't PM online stores at all (wtf?) etc.

My favourite part of the experience was "We also don't PM wholesalers like Memory Express..." and I was like "So you mean you don't PM anywhere with lower prices than you?" to which he replied "Yes."

LOL. Anyway, after I got passed the clueless idiots trying to blow me off I got to a decent manager. While doing everything in his power to deny the PM, he was at least polite and helpful. This is where it gets interesting: They will PM online stores, but they factor in the price of OVERNIGHT SHIPPING. He even opened up the Canada Post page, put in the postal code of the store, and my postal code, and used the overnight rate from there. From THAT added onto the price, he'd calculate the PM. It was $30 in the case of a mouse.

Of course I thought this was bull, so I asked to see it in writing. Sure enough, there was a poster on the wall and he was 100% correct.

Moral of the story: This took me 40 minutes and I'll just be ordering online anyway. What a waste of time for all parties.
