I just looked at my bill and noticed there was a $5 increase.. It's funny cause they wrote "the price has been ADJUSTED as of Apiril..." why don't they just say what it really is and say increased.. anyways, I never got notice of any increase, just wondering if you got a notice of the increase. It's only $5 but I'm not really happy with them anyways, so this just kind of gives me more incentive to cancel and go to Bell.
Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong forum...

The really strange part is that with the increase I am now being charged $94.95 for my package when the website lists it at $89.95.
I think I'll be calling Shaw to see what is going on with this. I had to call in last time to get my package "changed" to reflect the lower website price too...

The Shaw bill goes up every month. Usually not by that much though. It's usually about $2 a month increase.

Say what? Shaw's prices have not increased every month. Perhaps if you've been tinkering with your account. Or perhaps if it changed on one singular occassion aside from the rate hike due to an end in your promotion.
Rates increases in a nutshell on April 1st (Last rate increase was not long ago in September 2007):
Basic, Classic, and Digital TV subscriber rates increased by $3 plus taxes.
Digital TV and Movies increased by $4.
Fairchild TV packages with high-speed internet increased by $6.
I agree though, the notification system sucks ass and the Fairchild TV increases don't make sense. It seems to have just evened the high-speed prices they were paying to be on par with everyone else plus kicked in the $3 hike for the TV portion. Prior to this, Fairchild subsribers were paying $29/month plus whatever their TV bill was. Now it's on par with $32, the bundled rate for everyone else.

You don't own your modem. Somewhere along the lines you chose not to buy yours.
Owning the modem provides a $5 discount.
