Hello, I'm trying to find a recipe for a certain Chinese dessert but have had no luck finding it on Google. I don't know what they're called, but they're soft 1.5-inch diameter balls made with rice flour (I think) with a sweet bean paste filling. They're probably steamed or baked, but definitely not fried or boiled, and they are NOT sticky. In fact, they're very soft and fluffy. I really want this recipe so I can learn how to make them non-sticky, unless most things made with rice flour! Can anyone help? Thanks!

i was thinking you are referring to "tong yuen," but you said its not boiled. can it bc "naw mai chee?" they are made of gultineous rice flour and filled with either red bean paste or crushed peanuts/sugar/shredded coconuts. these are the only 2 i can think of.

the common ones are made with glutinous rice so they are most definitely sticky...
maybe steamed buns? they look anything like these?

The thing you're trying to find the recipe for, is this what it looks like? The food in this pic isn't Chinese styled; it's Korean, but if it's like this, I think I sorta know what you mean by the Chinese equivalent of what's shown. I'm very unsure of this, but I'm guessing in Cantonese it's called "long mai chi".

Yes, they actually do look like that! They're soft and not sticky, right? Does anyone have the recipe for them? Thanks for the help :)

2 cup Glutinous rice powder
½ cup Cornstarch
2 tbsp Sugar
1 cup Hot water
1 cup Red Bean Paste
2 tbsp Vegetable oil
Divide the sweet bean paste into 30 small round ball pieces.
Put the glutinous rice powder in a pot. Make a hole in the center. Add sugar and oil.
Put the cornstarch in a bowl. Add boiling water. Mix with chopsticks.
Pour into glutinous rice powder and knead together until very smooth and soft.
Cut the dough into 30 small pieces. Flatten each small piece of dough with the palm of hand.
Place 1 piece of sweet bean paste filling in center of dough let all the edges come up to top center so that the dumpling is round.
Place all dumplings on a greased steamer. Put in place over boiling water. Steam about 10 minutes
