I was eating a burger and on the last bite I bit down normally and crunch. I pulled out a piece of glass from my mouth so I spit the rest of the food into a napkin. Called over the manager and all he could to was apologize, he comped our meal which was about half eaten and we left. When I got home I looked in the napkin and poked around in the food when I found more glass(almost looks inbedded in the meat)but it was chewed so I dont know if it was inbedded. There were small broken pieces and a big piece about the same size as the inital one that I pulled out. The bigger pieces were probably the circumference of a pen cap. We do eat their often and they use plastic glasses, they do have a bar also, the server did mention that it looks like a broken piece of their bar cups but those cups do not go into the kitchen.
I have taken pictures and emailed them to the GM. What else should I do? contact a lawyer? just expect an apology and that is it?
Thanks.

Maybe you should go see a doctor and get an xray to see if you swallowed any glass.
Did they refund your meal at least?

mdc- I will hold off abit but I will.
Funkylist - yes, the manager said don't worry about paying the bill(probably would of been $60 bill but we only finished 1/2 the meal). I didnt even think of getting a x-ray for that, what type of x-ray

Please let us know the name of the restaurant - no harm in that because all you are doing is relaying your experience there.

Why is everyone so ready to sue people nowadays? You're not hurt, they covered the cost of your meal and apologized. What else could you possibly want?

What do you want them to do? Should they have written him a check for $1M? Maybe found the person responsible and thrown them in front of moving traffic?
Someone screwed up somewhere. Maybe it was in the kitchen, maybe is was one of the ingredient providers. All you can really hope for is that the manager took note of the situation and is looking in to the cause so it doesn't happen again.

That's not good enough. Maybe the next unknowing victim will swallow the glass, glass rips their insides, causes internal bleeding, and then dies.
OP, report the incident to the board of health. We aren't talking about finding an insect or hair in the food. We are talking about something that could have caused personal harm or death.

"A police officer in the Bronx was cut in the mouth and throat on Saturday night when he bit into a hamburger from McDonald's stuffed with shards of broken glass, the police said. The officer, a 39-year-old member of the canine unit who was not identified, ordered a Big Mac at 11:30 p.m. at the drive-through window at 875 Garrison Avenue, near Tiffany Street. An employee at the restaurant, Albert Garcia Jr., 18, of Hunts Point, was later arrested and charged with assault, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon. Investigators believe he intentionally put the glass in the hamburger, though his reasons remained a mystery, the police said, as he and the officer did not know each other. The officer was treated at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and released. Michael Wilson (NYT)"

"A family in La Ronge was the victim of a hamburger horror show this week.
Brenda Lepine and her family were sitting down to dinner Monday night when they discovered a piece of glass in their Hamburger Helper.
Lepine inspected some leftover uncooked meat and discovered another piece of glass. Each piece was about a centimetre in diameter.
She took it back to the local store where she had purchased it. The manager gave her $75 worth of gift certificates, and told her that he would check into the situation.
Lepine says the incident has turned her family off ground beef. "I was scared. My husband and I, we're working low-income people and hamburger has been a big part of our meals and the thing is you can cook it so many different ways. And now something like this happens to you it's like do I want to buy hamburger again?"
Lepine intends to complain to Health Canada."

+1
they're learning from American's.
Human's aren't perfect, there was obviously a mistake somewhere, unless someone did it on purpose.

I was wondering if I should contact a lawyer incase of internal damage not to try to get loads of money. I did get x-rays taken today in which they said they they probably wont be able to see the glass on the x-ray but can see if it may have tore anything.
Why dont you put glass in a burger, bite down and have a mouth full of broken glass in your mouth, not fun and scary as hell. When you spit the glass out you can still feel the tiny grandulated glass pieces in your mouth even after you rinse it. Now imagine swallowing it and what it could do to your insides, hence the reason to think about calling a lawyer.

well if you are ok then why shoud you get anything?
i can understand if you are hurt, but if you are ok then theres no need to
would you sue someone for "almost" hitting you with their car?
there was a time where i slipped on a wet floor, but i wasnt hurt..should i have sued them, because i could have gotten hurt? i dont think so...i would have only sued had a i really gotten hurt.
just be thankful that you are ok and move on with your life
