interesting...is there any costs involved or is this just organizing pick-up?

When you talk about membership, is there a fee?

The court looks sweet and shiny.

Should we start a RFD team and save some money?

$500 for 10 players, instead of $70 individually?

I know I'll be away the Sunday of June 15th. 10 players would be good since full-court is draining.

How long are games? Does everyone play on Sunday? How does pick up work? You said games are Sunday afternoon and pick is during weeks with non-league play. There are only 9 weeks between June 1st and July 27th.

I'm probably going to join instead of going to the AC at U of T until August.

Pricing isn't too bad. How is your league gonna work for individuals? Tryouts or something? Team Captains?

Join Team RFD!!! He told me there are no tryouts. I'm guessing if they put us on a team then they would have a captain. I just hope I don't play with ball-hogs.

Do we wear pinnies? We don't need to buy uniforms, right?

No uniforms needed it's pickup!

For individuals, you sign up, and on our site we ask for your height and skill level, then we will make teams as even as possible with the info provided.

Dates are as follows.

June 1, 8, 15, 22
July 6, 13, 20, 27

are league games.

June 29, we shut down for Canada Long weekend. August 3 we shut down for Caribana Long weekend

August 10, 17 will be pickup.

Then Scadding will be renovating the gym :D for the last two weeks of August.

Next League will start in September.

Once you sign up as a Member of the TBC, you will always be welcome on pick up dates, regardless if you sign up for the next league.

Hope that helps and see you on the court!

Are the games 45 minutes long, 2 running clock 20 minute halves? Is it 1 game per Sunday? When the earliest game and when's the latest game?

Thanks for the info.

Hmmm... aren't you afraid the teams might be a bit lopsided if people just send in their playing calibre? I know the friday league I play in had 2 open-runs to see player calibre before mixing up the teams for league play. They said they did the "write your skills" the year before and the teams were very lopsided.

Funny the league rep said to me in the beginning;

"Man, last year people were putting competitive varsity as their experience and I don't think they were qualified to be a water boy!" lol

At any rate, good luck in the league... too bad my mid-summer is packed, I may pop in for the pickup games though at $5 a pop, pretty good rate. -sg

Hmmm... aren't you afraid the teams might be a bit lopsided if people just send in their playing calibre?yeah I was thinking the same thing. Reminds me of NBA 3-on-3 competition I joined a few years ago. My team put down the lowest level in terms of competition skills and some guys we played were like varsity level skill level. I remember my buddy not particularly liking getting dunked on (opposing team threw an alley-oop lob to their 6'4 swingman.....).

Hhaha sounds like my skill level.......though I would never put down competitive varsity as my skill level.........more like beginner !

games will start @ 2pm and will go through the afternoon depending on how many teams we get.

Scadding is closed to the public on Sundays so the gym is ours as long as we need it.

games will start as close to 2:00 as possible and end @ 2:55pm. The next game will start as close to 3:00 as possible and end @ 3:55 and so on...

well, we hope that people will give their best estimate of their ability. We feel that this is better than just randomly making teams.

Also, when you sign up, if you know someone else who is signing up you can request to be on their team FYI.
