Garbage!

I pre-order GTA4 for the PS3 from Futureshop with assurances they will hold copies for everyone that has ordered them.

I don't line up at midnight because I actually work and didn't want to be up that late, so I roll into the store today around 4:30pm, bring my reciept to the till and am handed a bag and it's the XBox version.

I politely tell them that they gave me the wrong version, they respond that they don't have any PS3 games left. They never got their shipment.
I ask them, "so you're telling me for the most anticipated game of the year, that you took pre-orders for you did not get shipped a single compy for PS3"

Response "Yes"

Me "So all those people who lined up at midnight, you turned them all away?"

Response "Well No..."

Turns out they sold the fricking pre-orders to people who lined up last night and assumed they would get another shipment of the game this morning.

And didn't get the shipment!

What garbage, I ran around for about an hour trying to find a place that wasn't sold out, ended up finally getting the last one at Blockbuster.

What the hell is with Futureshop?
I'm done shopping there.

I am sure there was an internal contest to see which store could sell the most copies during the special midnight launch so when you did not come in to buy your copy that night you were no help to them so they sold your game in hopes of having bragging rights. It sucks but I saw that type of short sighted plan all the time when I worked there.

At least try speaking to a manager, you might get a gift card or something for the trouble.

Then you can stop shopping there...

The funny thing is that I actually had already paid for the game in full. And they tried to give me my money back on a gift card, after I had refused to re pre-order the game.

EB / Gamestop is just as guilty of this as well. You are not alone.
