So I've been making some bread with my breadmaker, but have been sticking with white bread or egg bread.

But I have a potluck on Friday and the theme is breakfast food. So I'm going to make a few breads for that. One of them is an orange bread.

Basically, would yeast play well with orange juice? Or would the acidity kill it? Do I need to up the amount of yeast I use to compensate?

The commercial yeast you buy from the supermarket will live in slightly acidic environments, so OJ will be fine. But not much more... if you get the pure yeast organism, it'll survive in much harsher pHs.

Thank you. Wish me luck!
