Hey everyone,
Mother's day is coming up, and I need to get my mom something. She reallly likes Marzipan chocolates (I think she likes the Mozart brand) but I have no idea where to find them...
Anyone know where to go to get them? I've asked places like Laura Secord and Godiva but no luck so far...
Thanks for the help!

Try European delis
If you are in the GTA, Brandt foods in Mississauga has them guaranteed!

Cool, thanks, I'll be sure to give them a look
Anyone know of any places in Scarborough/North York/Downtown Toronto? Otherwise, I'll be hitting those up this weekend.

If you can find a Dutch store, you will find marzipan.

Don't know if it's still there, but there was a store on Birchmount north of Eglinton on the west side. Maybe a Brandt store too. It was Vienna meats when my dad ran it.

So, this mother's day I'm gonna get my mom marzipan chocolates.
I got them from the Godiva store last time.
I am going to check out the Birchmount/Eglinton place that 3weddings suggested, but anyone know anywhere else? I'd prefer it to be in Scarborough/North York or close to a TTC station.
Thanks!
And sorry for reviving this old thread. :o

The Brandt's warehouse outlet on Wharton Way in Mississauga (Hwy 27 and the Queensway more or less). Typical German grocery - the chocolate section is bigger than the produce section. Awesome store for all kinds of central and eastern European foods. That's where I get my marzipan and Mozarts. Great prices too. A similar place just off Kipling south of Dundas. Bering Av. I think?
If thats too far to go (even though its a sure hit) try the Nutty Chocolatier if there is one in your neck of the woods. They carry marzipan and several varieties of the Mozart brand chocolates.
Also a well stocked (chocolatewise) deli place on the south side of Steeles Av. just east of Keele (near York U).
Sorry dude, but as you can see, I'm a west end boy.

Good to know, thanks!
My mom really likes (and usually gets) the Mozart brand chocolates.
If I have to, I guess I'll have to make hte journy down the 401 to 'sauga
Any other suggestions?

The places that sell decent Marzipan are Downtown Toronto like Eitelbach (Bay and Bloor area) and First Canadian Place.
Some stores in the Bayview/Eglinton area have good products as well.

I'll check them out for the future, but for now I got them at Godiva

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory (Vaughan Mills, Eaton Centre) carries marzipan.
Where are these Dutch stores?

Purdy's have marzipan bars which are really good. Too late for Mother's Day, I know, but great for a treat anytime. Buy 3 bars and they work out cheaper. I highly recommend these bars. They are sold with the chocolate bars not the individual chocolates.
