I'm not a big bacon fan but I have been eating them on a more regular basis lately. Is it better to get the chicken kind or is there a "healthy" brand of the pork variety?
The Maple Farms ones are less salty than the "house" brands, i.e Compliments, PC, etc. I find the Compliments brand have more lean meat than the "premium" brand. Funny how things are.

I think for turkey, you need to shop at Loblaws, Sobey's, Dominions; I haven't seen any at No Frills or b-class grocers.

bacon is good because it is fatty and salty
If you remove those elements, what is the point?
Just eat less of it and enjoy the real thing every now and again

The only thing I do not like about the commercial bacons is that they are full of chemicals- like the maple leaf maple one, and so many preservatives.
There is a deli store near me where they smoke their own bacon and meats that are all natural.
No idea on the fat or salt- but not something I eat often.
Yummm....paprica smoked bacon.....gonna buy some this week.
I think the maple lodge turkey ones are fairly healthy, but they are never crispy and I like crispy bacon.
Also Yves veggie bacon is quite healthy, but again it is never crispy.

That paprika bacon sounds good, can you let me know if it is any good? If so where did you get it from.

turkey bacon is your best bet here if you are looking for the lowest sodium lowest fat variation. You can find lower sodium versions they don't have to be the same as regular bacon.
