What will this mean for Tim Horton's now that Arby's investors have bought Wendy's (& Tim Hortons)?

"Atlanta-based Triarc Companies Inc., owned by Peltz, said Thursday it will pay about $2.34 billion in an all-stock deal for the nation’s third-largest hamburger chain started in 1969 by Dave Thomas."

"Peltz has pushed for change at Wendy’s — including the spinoff of the Tim Hortons coffee-and-doughnut chain and cutting corporate expenses — since 2005 to increase the company’s stock price. His Trian Fund and his allies own 9.8 percent of Wendy’s stock."

"Eliminating duplicate corporate functions and streamlining support services are expected to eventually save $60 million, said Triarc,"

Great more lower quality food that will cost more? Like the frozen donuts they now serve. And who eat's at Arby's? It's not roast beef, its deli sliced roast beef.

Is it really roast beef? I bet it's a cocktail of many different things with some meat added in there.

i thought Wendy's has no more vested interest with Tim Hortons?

"Shares of the company began trading on March 24, 2006, with an initial public offering of C$27 per share, raising over $700 million in the first day of trading. On September 28, 2006, Wendy's spun off the rest of its shares in Tim Hortons, by distributing the remaining 82% to its shareholders.[14] On the same day, Tim Hortons was added to Canada's benchmark stock-market indicator, the S&P/TSX Composite Index, and to the S&P/TSX 60.[15]

On February 2, 2007, Wendy's reported a 90% drop in earnings at the end of the fourth quarter following the completed spin-off of Tim Hortons, subsequently causing the company stock to drop a total of 4%."
