Has anyone tried Phoenix Restaurant (金鳳餐廳) ?


I wonder why this restaurant is always so crowded..:confused:

It's pretty cheap and the food is pretty good. Also, happy hour specials are dirt cheap and come with a drink.

Which one? McCowan one or Woodbine one?

It is crowded because its food is good. It is properly not related to the one Central Parkway because these two are not exactly cheap (relative to its competitors).

Both of them are good but I prefer the one in McCowan.

I have to agree it has good and some unique food. They have good Hainan Chicken Rice/Rice Rhapsody, Curry Rice, Good sirloin steak dinner too!!! Very good cold milk tea and red bean ice drink! It's not cheap compared to similar restaurants though.

It's not a bad place, they are famous for their 魚翅骨豬骨湯米線(Yunnan Vermicelli in Fish Broth) and their specialty 海南雞飯 (Steamed Chicken On Rice with Ginger Sauce).

The one on McCowan I go to every few weeks, its a tad far from where I live(20~ mins), but well worth the trip. Love their curry and ginger chicken on rice!

There's two locations, new one on woodbine and steeles, north of steeles on the east side. The main location is on mccowan and raymerville south of 16th ave.

They have good Hainan Chicken Rice which is served de-boned =D ... and their green tea pancake dessert is yummy too hehe.. that's what I always order when i'm there.:D

I haven't gone to this place in a while, but when I did, they're food was pretty good. In addition to the Steam Chicken on Rice with Ginger Sauce, I liked their Pork Chop Rice with sauce that had almonds sprinkled on it also. It isn't neccesarily cheap, but food is alright.
