I went to appliance Canada, then to Sears home and finally Home depot.
Home depot immediately price matched Sears prices and then gave 10% discount on top of it.
I got total 45 % discount from the listed prices after taxes.
What do guys think?. is it a good deal?.

Nice JoB!!!! Don't you love getting great deals.
I just got a Capital Range Precision gas that at Tasco was $7699 and I got it from Caplans for $3000 a 60% reduction. When I first went to Caplans it was 5400 then i went back and the guy dropped the price to 4400 so we still waited and I got an email at the end of March saying the price was now $3000. I couldn't hold out anymore and I went for it. If you see this stove even the US sites will say sale price of $5000- so I think I did pretty damn good!
Enjoy your new appliances - I love my new range!! Just put it in on Saturday:cheesygri

Kateangels,
How did you get it off the list price? Was it on sale at Sears and then you got the additional 10%? I need a gas stainless steel stove, a dishwasher and would buy it asap if the price is right.
Thanks in advance.

Does Appliance Canada give out written quotes? I thought it was all verbal since they don't want people to take their quote and take it to another retailer for price matching.

Kateangels,
Do you mind sharing how much appliance canada offered you for each? And I'm curious which sears did you go to?
Thanks in advance for all your tips :-)

Appliance Canada’s quote was still higher. I went to Sears Home at Brampton with Red Flag Deal printout on the prices couple of other people got on price matching other appliances. Sales person immediately went to the manager and asked if we could give these at the prices posted in Red Flag deals. Manager at Sears Home agreed to match the prices.
Then I did the appliances order at Sears and then went to Home depot to do price matching by showing Sears order. Then I cancelled the Sears order after getting further discount from Home depot.
RFD posting really helped me in price matching in Sears.
I have Sales persons name at Sears with me; if you want I can give it to you.

which range was this? I just called Caplan's and they told me they don't carry Capital. Was it from their discount area?

Did Sears give you a written quote? If so could you please scan it and post it? I am looking for buying full sets of appliance right now. The price you got is super hot! Or could you please post the receipt from Home Depot? I will be really thankful if I can get the same deal.

Hi Kateangel,
I went to sears home store in etobicoke and gave it a try. The sales man said he can't talk to his manager since my print out from red flag deals wasn't enough.
He said if the prices were on a business card or I had receipt or flyer or some kind of proof he would try to make it happen. I don't know if I should try the brampton one (the one you went to).
I'd appreciate if you could email me any additonal info that may help such as manager's name..... :)
any type of order sheet or receipt would make this possible for sure ;)
Thanks for posting this thread. :-)

Hi Kateangels,
I've been looking for a good deal on that LG washer and dryer pair. Your links you posted for The Brick don't seem to work anymore. Did they have them on sale or something? If I search for them on thebrick.com, they just come up with original list prices.
As far as I can tell, Appliance Canada doesn't even sell LG.
They seem to be on sale at Sears right now for $2200 for the pair but that doesn't even come close to the $1450 you got them for.
Where did you get your original prices (on the washer/dryer) to start your price matching journey?
Thanks!

Hi theppler,
I got the orginal prices for washer and dryer from Sears. The same washer and dryer is on sale this week at Sears for $2300. http://www.sears.ca/gp/product/B00175W2B2/ref=sr_11_1/102-9223298-4430533?ie=UTF8&keywords=WM2355CW&searsBrand=core

OK I must be missing something here...
So you took these Sears prices ($2300) to Home Depot and somehow got them down to $1450 for the pair? If so, then that is quite the price match!

I agree. Something ain't right here.
Kateangels, please confirm the model numbers of the washer/dryer and the final sales prices. I'm buying a combo tomorrow, but I don't feel like making a fool of myself at Home Depot by asking them to price match a non-existant deal.

I just got a really good deal on a kitchen package at Future Shop. I dont know if the salesman was just friendly or if they always do this but he had a REAL liberal version of price matching. We told him about a range at Sears (Kenmore smoothtop $899 on sale for $699) that was on sale and he said he'd price match it even if he didnt have the same make/model. So we got a Stainless Steel Whirlpool smoothtop reg. price ($929 for $699).
Then there was an open box Samsung fridge regular $1249, we got it for $849.
Finally we saw a stainless steel dishwasher for $399 but we wanted something black (so no fingerprints or wet dog nose prints) but the only black one he had was $499 so we got that for $399.
All in all we got all the above for less than $2200 (taxes/delivery/removal of old stuff) when it would regularly be over $2900

I should have done a search sooner. Been getting prices from canadianappliance.com and just discovered smartbuy.com thanks to RFD. Plan to go check out Caplans.
Quans is good but they are a bit restrictive with credit cards and don't take AMEX.
Keep the good threads alive...

I am in the market to purchase appliances as well and have gotten prices from Quan, Tasco, Brick, Sears, ApplianceCanada, ShopSmartBuy, Caplans (this past weekend), and several US based Web sites as well as stores in Buffalo and Detorit.
I concluded that buying from shopsmart buy would be least hassle (compare to other web sites) with most savings (compare to all stores). In my case there are couple of items which shopsmartbuy does not carry and or can't get, so I have to look somewhere else.
Hences, I found 'buy-appliances.com' (http://www.buy-appliances.com) So far, the little research I have done, this places sounds like someone I would do business with, but I am not 100% sure just yet. I am wondering if anyone else has heard of this place or done any business with. They also sell quite a bit on e-bay and have got nothing but good feedback (if that means anything at all).
Thanks.

I kind of came to the same conclusion. Haven't heard of buy-appliances befor though. How was you Appliance Canada quote? Mine was maybe $60 more (including shipping) than the sum of the best prices at Smartbuy for the same items.
