What are the steps in building a home? and timeline.

Hi,

Excavation for my home will start soon. I would like to know process of building a home. All the steps and timeline for each of them.

There are several threads about the total time it would take from start to finish but I am more interested in the details.

The CMHC publishes a book on the canadian building code - it's ~20$ at chapters. Very useful to make sure builder isn't cutting corners.

It also has a chapter on all the steps it takes to build a house, with timelines, etc.
