internet connection dropping every 2 weeks?

I have a linksys wireless g router and after about 2 weeks or so...the internet connection just drops

i am sure there is a way to fix it properly....but i usually have to unplug my router and modem and it will work

i am with rogers(robbers)

i use to have dlink gaming router...and it would do the same thing but more like every 3-4 days.

is there anything to stop it from dropping?

call it in, the tech will test your lines. if it is the line i guess they will replace it and same goes for the modem. i had this issue before, upgraded my modem and i was a-o-k

Is there any chance your 2.4 GHz phone is mucking things up? If you have one, try plugging the main charging base in to another outlet?

same thing happens to me. using WRT54G. i saved my configuration and just reload it when it happens and all's good again...so for sure it's the router and not the modem. try that and see if it helps you. but i would like to know why this happens so often now...any ideas?

If you have a linksys router compatible with Tomato or another third party firmware try flashing with that and see if it helps. I have found my router more stable since changing it over to Tomato. And I much prefer the interface/options.
