I had bought a refurbished lcd monitor in March 2006. I bought a performance service plan(4yr) for $59.99. Cost of monitor was $279.99.
The power button on my monitor does not work or light up. The button is also
stuck inside the button area. Does my Performance Service Plan cover this?
Will Best Buy repair this or replace it? What should i do?
I have receipt and proof of purchase.

They will repair it.
Might take a while.

Depends if they can bust out the soldering iron and do a quick repair, or if they have to order a part in from manufacturing.
In both cases you're looking at a while. :|

Would it be wrong to ask if I can have the monitor back by a certain date?
Can i do that? what will determine if I can get a replacement monitor. Keeping in mind that when i bought it, it was refurbished anyways.
Is there a gurantee that at least I'll get it back before a month, or less since it could just be the power button?

If it wont be fixed in 60 days they will give you a replacement on the spot. (thats policy, if they try to jerk you around make sure you bring it up)

By being still pressed in, do you mean the button was pushed in but didn't pop back out? Hopefully they won't give you a run around citing physical damage. Good luck!
If they give you a replacement, make sure you get the best one you're entitled to. If any of the specs are better on your monitor now than they are on the replacement offered, you should ask for a better replacement. The replacement monitor should be the same or better than the one you have now.

yes Brandon, the button is pushed but never came back out. Now I don't have any power from the monitor. So can anyone confirm that in 60 days I would get a replacement if they don't fix in the time period

Read the agreement, but yes, the time guarantee is 60 days.

Though I can't image being without a monitor for that long lol.
I bet you could do a direct manufacturer RMA and have it back in half that time.
Another option is to check whether you have a vendor authorized repair depot in your area.

A refurb from March 2006 probably won't have manufacturer warranty anymore unfortunately.

working at best buy, i can say that you will not have it repaired but have it replaced. as long as you have your receipt which indicated you bought the 4 year psp with the monitor, best buy will take it in and have it replaced with the same/or a similiar item if no longer in stock. Usually with these type of problems, the in-store technicians just don't have the time/necessary tools to repair it, and will most likely just send it to the manufacturer for a replacement.
