I need a hard drive and I am new to Vancouver, BC so I do not know where to look. Any advice please?

I say Anitec.... they're really good when it comes to holding your hand and suggesting things.

Any computer store...
NCIX (http://www.ncix.com/contact/) and Anitec (http://www.anitec.ca/info/contact/) are the best.
I usually order online at NCIX, pricematch using the best prices I can find on pricecanada.com and then pick it up at the Vancouver branch (pricematching in-store is more difficult).

+1 for ncix since they have multiple convenient locations (after pricematch). I usually use Anitec or directcanada.com for great PM pricing online.

Ditto to the previous posts.
NCIX, you have to place the order and wait for them to get it.
Anitec is set up like a retail store, and you can browse shelves and pick up what you want to buy, although I'm not sure about 2.5" HDDs.

"although I'm not sure about 2.5" HDDs."
Went there last Saturday && they have 2.5'' drives on display in these plastic-ky boxes.

I just picked up two Fujitsu 80GB 2.5" drives ($50 bucks each!) at Anitec. Walk in, pick up, pay, walk out. 4 minutes total.
I bill by the hour, minimum one hour. Time saved is money earned!
Last week I tried to do the same at NCIX. Waited 30 minutes in line (for a stupid NIC), and got attitude as a bonus! >:(

Let me guess, you went to the Burnaby location ;)? Attitude comes free at NCIX
Anitec is (maybe was since I did ISPU twice during the first 3 months of their new store opening) garbage when it comes to internet order pickups from my experience. Disorganised and I had to hail a rep as they didn't have a dedicated online pickup area.

Last week, Anitec had 160-GB Seagates for $69.98!

LOL I'm glad I'm not the only one that gets it.

Yeah I complained about that to them too. It actually changed a couple months back. They now have a dedicated pick up at the front counter.
Though I still think their online order processing time could be better...

When I pick up online orders at the Vancouver branch, I'm in and out in 5 minutes tops. If you buy it on the spot, you have to take a number.

I've had good experiences with the Vancouver store as well (except if you go on a Saturday, then it's hella busy). It seems the Burnaby store has always been the problematic one.
