Use Opera!
www.opera.com
As for your spyware problem, update your anti-virus and do a full system scan (Especially the 'critical' areas)

If your files are being moved around you have more than just some spyware. I haven't had a virus in a while but they tend to be hard to remove, especially when trying to install antivirus programs afterwards.

There's no single spyware/malware scanner on the market that covers everything. Use 2-3 different programs each time. I'd also suggest stinger, which is specifically fro Trojans.

Try AVG, Avast, Glary Utilities 2.5, Retina-X Spyware Cleaner 1.5, and above all get the McAfee SiteAdvisor. All are FREE for personal use any combination of these should help you rid yourself of whatever is on your PC and Remember always use protection when surfing the net :P

There is. It's called format.
And it's completely free!
... in all seriousness though, a reformat is your best bet for ensuring a clean slate.
