The 8gb Iphone is about $50 more (if I can find on in the states at AT&T for $250 still) but is it any good to be used as a phone? What extra features does the Iphone have? Anything else that can justify purchasing one over the other?

Yeah the iphone is a great phone. No problems so far. The only extra feature is i guess the phone part lol.

I used to have an iPod touch and a regular cell phone.

Sold the touch, now I have an iPhone :)

Great phone.

go with the phone. Also when you unlock/jailbreak it you could use all the ipod touch features without a sim card. So you can always have a second phone and when you feel like carrying only one item just pop in the sim card.

ok, I'll see if I can get one from an AT&T store. But if not, is it still worth it at $400? Also what is new with Ipod touch V2? I was just playing with an Ipod touch at Futureshop and I love it. But the Iphone is going to be a bit more bulky (I think, never used one yet), does anyone find it to be a little to big?

I don't really need the phone or camera feature (heard the camera sucks anyways) but if it is worth it, I'll try to get it.

Yea I'll try and get it then. Hoping store still have the refurb stock at $250 so I can get my friend to get it and ship it to me. One problem though is that I have not seen an iphone in real and I don't know if it will feel comfortable in my hand as the touch did (since it is larger). I guess I can sell it though if I don't like it.

Don't forget, the iphone has that terrible recessed headphone jack which means if you want to use earphones/headphones other than the ones that came with the phone, you're out of luck.

More people say the Iphone so I'll attempt to get it. I probably won't use the phone that much though since I don't have on now and hardly need one, but atleast it will be there for when I do. I could set it up on rogers pay as you go or 7-11 speakout. Does the ipod touch have a smaller head phone jack as well? And if I jailbreak the touch, can I get more apps than the iphone or atleast the same ones?

nope the itouch doesn't have the recessed headphone jack. You can use all the same apps except the ones that use the camera/phone features (obviously). The iPhone is bigger and heavier than the Touch. It weighs in at 4.8 ounces and 11.6 mm depth versus the Touch's slim 4.2 ounces and 8mm thickness. Hope this helps

I just found a deal for a 8gb Ipod touch for $180, though it is said the be scratched up on the back but perfect screen (scratch proof). I was thinking about getting it and some scratch remover for $10, clean it up, and then I have an Ipod touch for $190. But then, if I want to put all the apps on it (seen some with 200+ apps) how much space would it take? I think 16gb might be a little bit better.

the apps are fairly small however they is a hidden partition of 300mb (i think, its somewhere any there) where they are saved. However you can use an app called bosstool to transfer them to the 8gb part.

I've tried using the iPhone and it's a really clumsy phone. However, it's good for music, videos, and grenade functionality.

That is what I was thinking, but I cannot say as I have never tried it. Maybe I can go down and try one out, if I don't like it, I'll just get a touch.

Please explain.

I love the Touch's UI. Applications are so intuitive so I expect the same to be true with the iPhone. I'll probably pick one up when it becomes available then sell the Touch.

;)Speaker (there's only one) & mic (for the phone, of course).

Comparing the touch and iphone side by side, I found them very similar sizewise in terms of surface area; the iPhone is a little thicker.

let me ask this question, for anyone with the Iphone, do you find it uncomfortable or too big to use as a phone?

Oh and I'm hearing rumors about an improved Iphone, is this true?

Its fine in terms of size, a tad heavy though.

A 3G phone will be coming out in the summer months/to Christmas, it probably will also pack in a few additional features as well.

What exactly is 3g? I could purchase it, then sell around late may then get the 3G one, lol.

Let's change this a bit, Would an iphone 8gb be better than 8gb Ipod touch and a k790a (would cost about the same, taking prices from RFD BST for the touch and k790a, and the refurb deal on the 8gb iphone at ATT, if I can get someone to find it.) I don't always need a cell on me as well, I don't have much use of it, I don't even have one now.

Really there's only one? There's speaker holes on both sides of the iPod connector, I always thought it was stereo. :P

Just debating on which one to get. Anybody who owned/played with both can enlighten me on what's the major differences between the 2? I read from a review that iPhone will have a gps which is a selling point for me. On the other hand, if it's the only thing different ( of course being a phone is another, hence the name ) from iTouch, I won't be signing up for 3 years contract just for that. Care to share your opinions to a newby?

Thanks
