A friend of mine is in the market for a new LCD monitor. I am not too familiar with current lineups on the market. I own a Dell 2407 WFP, but I heard some pretty negatives user experience regarding to the newer 240x products from Dell. Can any one make a recommendation for a monitor that's between, $350~550 price range?
Thanks,
pitz

Tell your friend to get a 2407WFP then. They're still available, and they're within the price range quoted.

Did you read his post?
I suggest you get a Lenovo ThinkVision L220XW
I don't own one, but it sounds amazing on paper. There is a thread about this LCD that Rehan started.
I am sure they are using a PVA pannel, what is amazing is the UXGA resolution for the price.

I don't see anything wrong with pitz's post. Did you read both?

When he mentioned 240x, I assumed he was not interested in either the 2407 or the 2408
I still suggest the Lenovo, most people want a 24" for the resolution and the Lenovo offers that at a cheap price

I know it is a 22", but if you want a 24" just for the resolution, then this particular model will give you the same resolution at a cheaper price.
If you want a 24" for bigger images, then that is a different story.

I have 3 Dell 2407WFP-HC's and they are great .. I would recommend them to anyone looking for 24" LCDs.
Great place to compare 24" LCDs: lcd24-7.info (http://lcd24-7.info/Compare.aspx)

From that chart. The 2408 looks pretty good. The 2407 is a good second choice followed by the Benq
The HP is not even a consideration.
