hey guys!

help me pick which 52" lcd tv to buy: the sony bravia 52xbr4 or sharp aquos 52d64U? looks like they're both excellent TVS; consumer reports rated the bravia slightly better than the aquos, with a better viewing angle.

the aquos seems to be a lot cheaper - FS and BB keep selling them for super cheap nowdays...!

what are your thoughts on each tv?

i'll be watching movies and playing games on the TV the most; don't really watch tv, but i wouldn't get HD tv, just SD.

Sony 52XBR5 , nuff said.

I'd say get the XBR4 if you're willing to pay more for it, compared to the Aquos. The picture is really that good. You also have the option/novelty of motionflow, which creates extra frames for a very smooth look, you can have it turned on or off.

Check out AVS forums, there is way more info there regarding the XBRs.

The XBR5 is just to have the top of the line Sony. Difference is that the 5 has piano black finish for a more luxurious look, costs a few hundred dollars more. XBR4 has a matte black with perforated holes.

Picture and features wise, the XBR4 and 5 are the same.

I'd say get the XBR4 if you could, you will not be disappointed.
