Samsung LNT4661F -- $1598
Pioneer 5080 -- $2498
Sony KDL46S3000 -- $1398
Visions' lowering their prices on quite a few models for final clearance. Think these prices are the lowest I've seen them. Maybe PM with BB or FS.

A friend/co-worker got the 4661F for $1449 during a Sears PM in late Oct/early Nov 2007. A few got it at the same price including a free BR player (the error prone Samsung 1400). I got the 4665 for $1599 a month later.

Any chance that a lower mainland Future shop or Best buy would price match Visions?

I found it on their flyer.
Not sure why though, but the flyer I got looks different compared to their online one.

I bought the set lnt4661f @ 1860 $ in january with the free blu-ray bd-p1400player: thanks RFD :) It was a pricing error on the futureshop website. Very good set at this price. Go for it.

I heard the newer 4661f uses a different processor and the image quality is not as good, anyone know more about this?
How's the SD quality of the Samsung compared to Sony?

You are right. Samsung use a new processor (cortez instead of Trident). The complaints was generally for the 4665 (not for the 4661) and the first generation with the new board/processor . The newest set with the new firmware seem working fine. Look at the build date for the newest set.

What is a good build date or S/N?
Any comment on the 4661's SD quality compare to Sony?

The serial number is on the outside of the box and indicates the year/month of build. The first post in this thread indicates how to decode the serial number to the date of build:
8th character:
P = 2007
Q = 2008
9th character:
1 = JAN
2 = FEB
3 = MAR
...
A = OCT
B = NOV
C = DEC
Any comment on the 4661's SD quality compare to Sony?
it depend of the model.
