my ps3 is pretty far from the router but it still shows signal strength of ~50% but it always disconnects me from PSN.... anyway to get around this?
my router and ps3 are on different floors and at different ends of the home...
better router? currently using DLINK and what ever bell gives you (modem and wireless router in 1)
repeater?
any tips are appreciated :)

I had the same problem, I had a us robotics wireless router literally 5 feet from my ps3 and all i got was 60-70%, I got a dlink wireless N and now get 100% from the basement, go figure, try upgrading to the newest firmware, I know my cousin has lag issues and drop offs with his dlink router when its about 20feet from his wii.

Some Dlinks are absolute junkers. I have the Gamer Lounge and it's great. It has Giga-E as well. Sweet router but pricey at $160 when I bought it over a year ago.

I've been using a free dlink I got from telus 1.5 years ago when they installed my internet. That might explain the dropout's i was getting on the ps3. Luckily i'd moved the old xbox to the bedroom and that'd free up a network cable, but it was pretty annoying having the connection drop out when playing streaming video. Especially since the ps3 instead of freezing and trying reconnect, just throws you out, and you have to find the file over again and start it from scratch :(

Make sure you've configured your router and PS3 correctly so that you have a NAT Type 2. If you have a NAT Type 3 it will be much slower.
