View Full Version : Transferring data from one xbox360 HD to another?

Hey guys,

I currently have the xbox 360 premium, but I'm going to be upgrading to the Elite very shortly. I'm wondering how I can transfer the data on my current hard drive to the new one? I heard there is some sort of cable to do this, but if so where is the best place to get one?

u get the cable free...if you send i think your UPCs or serial numbers of both units to some MS address in the states

check the xbox.com website and do a search.

I'm not too sure, but I know with the original elites you have to send in proof of ownership of both consoles and they mail you a transfer cable. Call up EB and ask them if the newer boxes get it packed in. I can't imagine you'd have to go through all that trouble still, which begs the question - what if you just buy a 120 gig HDD? Do those come with cables?

Yes, it comes with the cable and transfer CD. You can also get them free of charge from M$:

:confused: I got mine a few months back, and didn't cost me a thing (minus the stamp to send in the form). There was no shipping charge.
